For all the BMW aficionados, the hottest version of the brand’s 5-Series sedan is finally here, and we cannot keep our cool. With the 2025 BMW M5, we finally have a perfect performance-oriented sedan that can cost you $120,675 for its base variant and $141,375 if you opt for a fully loaded M5 sedan.
Like all its previous years, the 2025 M5 is exceptional, but this one comes with a twist of eco-friendliness. That’s right. The latest M5 is now exclusively available as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) featuring a V8 engine and an electric motor.
The new plug-in hybrid powertrain of the base variant of the new M5 combines a twin-turbo 4.4-liter engine with an electric motor, an eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drivetrain, and a 14.8-kWh battery pack, producing 717 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque. BMW has claimed that the new M5 can attain a top speed of up to 190 mph and can get to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds even while weighing 5,390 pounds.
Sure, it is no match for the 1065 hp of the 2025 Chevrolet ZR1, but this BMW model is a blast in its class.
BMW offers 10 primarily grayscale exterior color options for the new M5. Alpine White is free, whereas the other nine come with extra charges. Frozzen Deep Grey is the costliest color for $1,950 with limited availability, whereas the remaining ones, Carbon Black Metallic, Black Sapphire Metallic, Dark Graphite Metallic, Marina Bay Blue Metallic, Storm Bay Metallic, Isle of Man Green Metallic, Brooklyn Grey Metallic, and Vegas Red Metallic cost $650 extra for inclusion in your purchase.
In addition to this, BMW also offers three staggered wheel options available in jet black, dark gray, or bicolor. The wheels measure 20- inches front and 21- inches rear.
For further upgrading your purchase, there are three package options available: the M Carbon Ceramic Brakes package, the Carbon Package, and the Executive Package.
- The Executive Package costs $1,850 and adds front and rear heated seats, front ventilated seats, an illuminated grille, and power rear window sunshades.
- The Carbon Package costs $3,100 and includes a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic roof, carbon-fiber mirror caps, and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler in your purchase.
- The M Carbon Ceramic Brakes package is the priciest option for the new M5. It adds $8,500 to your final price and gives you everything you get in the other two packages.
The German automaker also offers the one-day M Driver’s Package performance driving class for another $2,500, the $900 M Drive Professional option, which adds a drift analyzer and additional traction control settings, and the $1,700 Driver Assistance Professional Package, which adds lane change assist, emergency brake assist, steering assist, and other safety features.
If you choose to buy the 2025 BMW M5 Sedan with every available option offered on it, you will have to pay $141,375. And as per the company’s official statement, this ride goes on sale later this year.
Furthermore, there is going to be a wagon variant called the M5 Touring, but its release is not on the cards yet. We will have to wait a bit longer until we have all the details.
