Toyota is again in the news, not for its 2025 Supra but for its highly anticipated 2025 GR Corolla. The revealed new model promises to deliver an unparalled driving experience, combining Toyota’s renowned reliability with cutting-edge technology.

The GR (Gazoo Racing) badge is synonymous with Toyota’s commitment to high-performance vehicles. The 2025 GR Corolla is all set to continue this legacy with a series of enhancements that push the boundaries of this compact hatchback.

For the new model year, Toyota has focused on refining the driving dynamics, improving power output, and even incorporating advanced tech features to ensure the GR Corolla remains a prominent choice in its segment.

GAZOO DAT

The first and foremost change Toyota has made to the GR Corolla is that it is no longer an only-manual ride. It now comes with an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (DAT) with paddle shifters that promises lightning-fast gear changes and improved fuel efficiency.

However, if you prefer a manual option, a revised six-speed manual transmission is there that offers smooth shifts and enhanced durability.

And when you combine each of these with an all-wheel drive system, you are ensured with optimal traction and stability, allowing you to push the GR Corolla to its limit in various driving conditions.

Morizo For GR Corolla

Like its predecessors, the 2025 GR Corolla comes powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine that makes an amazing 300 horsepower. What’s new is that the torque output of this engine has been increased to 295 pound-feet from 273 lb-ft from the last year.

It has the same torque output as 2023’s limited Morizo edition. The company has simply made it standard for all 2025 GR Corollas.

Despite this, Toyota has managed to squeeze more power from the compact engine, ensuring the upcoming model remains a fierce competitor on both track and street.

Not only this, all the new GRCs now come with front and rear limited-slip- differentials as standard. You will no longer have to make a choice. It is present on all offered trims.

Emphasis On Track Usage

To make it easy for track riders, Toyota now offers a more user-friendly central GR Four torque settings: Normal (60:40), Gravel (50:50), and Track (variable from 60:40 through 30:70). You no longer have to scratch your head to choose the right one for the job. The much-needed continuously variable torque split for the Track setting is finally here.

To make your track usage better than ever, there is the addition of a sub-radiator. It comes fitted behind the new front fascia, adding additional engine cooling performance that increased the engine’s track usage time. This impressive feature is standard on higher levels but optional on lower ones.

New Hatch Looks Good

The new GR Corolla now features a front bumper redesign that helps improve the balance of cooling and aerodynamic performance. This redesign has made room for a radiator, an intercooler, brake ducts, an available automatic transmission fluid cooler, and an available sub-radiator behind the front bumper.

GR Corolla Grades

For the 2025 model year, the GR Corolla will be available in three grades: Core, Premium, and Premium Plus. All of them are built on the TNGA-C platform and feature a low center of gravity.

You get features like JBL audio, a larger infotainment display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, GR-logo suede seats, dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and front seats, front and rear parking sensors, front and rear fascia with functional air vents, a carbon-fiber roof, the bulge hood with functional air vents, the sub-radiator, matte black wheels, a head-up display, and red stitching on the seats, either standard or optional based on the trim level you choose.

Advanced Tech

There is a new GR-Four AWD system that offers selectable driving modes that adjust the torque distribution between the front and rear axles. It allows you to tailor the vehicle’s handling characteristics to your preferences. Whether you are navigating tight corners on a race track or cruising on the highway, you can make your ride ready for any change at any time.

In addition, there is a driver-centric layout inside, featuring a host of modern amenities. With the new digital instrument cluster, you get real-time performance data, including G-forces, lap times, and turbo boost pressure.

Complimentary 1-year NASA Membership

The purchase of the 2025 GR Corolla comes with a complimentary 1-year membership to the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). You will enjoy original benefits like one free High Performance Driving Event (HPDE) and discounted admission to NASA-sanctioned events.

The upcoming 2025 Toyota GR Corolla is expected to hit dealerships by the end of 2024, with pre-orders already open. The pricing details are yet to be disclosed by the company, but we think it is going to be competitive like its outgoing model.
